My Goals

November5

First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do. ~Epictetus

I don’t know who Epictetus is, and really I don’t care much.  But I do know that I need a roadmap to keep me on course.  So I thought this would be a great place to list some of my own lofty goals/dreams . . .

Maybe I can get some feedback on them or at least give myself a list every now and then when I’m floundering.  So here goes.

List as of 12:30am on November 5, 2009

  • Incorporate my business so that I can build it to allow other women, moms (and some men) fulfill their dreams like I feel like I am getting to do.
  • Become a foster parent.  Step 1 – Send in the completed application that has been sitting on your desk for over a week.
  • Lose weight.
  • Get more organized in your daily/weekly routine to prioritize Hannah’s schooling and then work time and then have some fun time.  (But isn’t everything fun!)
  • Organize and utilize scrappy space for scrappy projects.
  • Find some time to read some good books.
  • Design your dream house to focus those long term dreams.

Ok, that’s a good start.  I will have to update this with successes and additions/removals, but I think this sums it up.

Wow, where to start?  I always feel like what should be said here should define me, how I feel about myself and how I live my life . . . and frankly how do you put all that in words that anyone but you could fully comprehend the meaning???

So I’ll be brief. Mother, ex-wife, daughter, sister, renter, homemaker, laundress, boss, friend, business owner and taxi driver – these are the hats I wear on a daily basis in my life.  I wouldn’t give up a single one, well, except maybe the “ex” part, but that’s a story for another day.

My life revolves around my two children who are with me all the time and my job because, let’s face it, I’ve got bills to pay.  I LOVE my life.  I am so blessed. But that’s not to say it isn’t VERY hard sometimes.  I’ve learned to count my blessings daily if not momentarily and am really looking forward to this new “blogging” chapter of my life, even if it is just an outlet for myself.

Have questions . . . ask?  I don’t hold back – ever, especially in this my “personal” space.
