I am a confused woman… As a very busy homeschooling mom of three and the manager and only full-time employee of two homes, I frequently forget where I am, what I’m doing, and with whom I am to do it with. Due to my husband’s job I am a single parent half of the month, the other half I have a very supportive spouse. The only complication is that his schedule makes it so that there is no consistency from week to week, much less day to day. Most of the time I function very well in this environment, hopping around has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
My hobbies include but are not limited to photography, sewing, hiking, painting, reading, talking, quilting, sketching the dragons that live in our home, exploring as many different forms of exercise as I come across, and researching all the things that catch my interest. If I had not run out of money I would still be going school as I want to know EVERYTHING. As a result I ended up with an Associate’s degree in Fine Arts, a Bachelors Degree in Geography with an emphasis in Environmental Analysis, and minors in Math, Political Science and Anthropology. I put all of them to good use teaching my children, which also gives me a great excuse to learn many new things too.
When I was a young girl I collected hats, trying them on, and wearing a different one everyday, sometimes switching out several in one day as my mood determined. Now that I am older I have switched out the real hats for metaphorical ones, putting them on and taking them off as needs arise, much like Dr Seuss’s Bartholomew Cubbins, pulling them off one after another in quick succession. My favorite hats to wear are Wife, Mom (huggy- cuddly playful side), Sister, Friend and Artist. My least favorites are Parent (rule-enforcer, disciplinarian side), Housekeeper, Accountant, and Laundress.
